Corporate Social Responsibility
In KODIVON we manage our business in a way that promotes social, economic and environmental benefits for the stakeholders. In line with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) which builds on the successes of the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) and aims at ending all forms of poverty, our social responsibilities to host communities reflects the Sustainable Developmental Agenda of the United Nations Development Summit of September 2015 which was titled Transforming our world: the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development. Among other goals, we seek to promote the following Sustainability Development Goals. Hereby identified as Goal’s 1,2,4 & 11.
- No Poverty (SDG 1); we strive to create employment opportunities for the host communities and the unemployed youths thereby alleviating poverty and consequently contributing to the economic development of the host communities and reduce the population of the unemployed workforce.
- No Hunger (SDG 2); by creating jobs we intent to end hunger and malnourishment, ensure sustainable food production system and a healthy nutrition lifestyle.
- Quality Education (SDG 4); through our primary school scholarship scheme we intent to ensure that the girl and the boy child in our host communities are off the streets and gets the necessary primary education needed to build a strong foundation for higher academic strides. Through other scholarship schemes we intend to promote human capacity development to empower our communities to be better educated to proffer solutions to challenges in the global community.
- Sustainable Cities and Communities (SDG 11); we advocate for a green environment so that our host communities and our environment at large could have good quality air and water, reduced heat build-up, soil erosion and reduced pollution of the atmosphere by greenhouse gases etc. We conduct our operations in the most environmentally friendly manner to ensure the safety of stakeholders and the environment.
